More Pictures From...

August 4-14, 1999

Here are a few snapshots of some of the different
things the trainees learned to do during LGT...
How to be cold, stand on the raft, and wear a rescue tube (did you say "tube" the correct way?)...

...how to work with CPR manikins...

(oh baby, baby...)

...and Dave even got to make a water rescue, before the course was over! Good thing he used the ring-buoy, otherwise there could have been two victims. By the way, Dave, has your shoe recovered from its near drownin'?

But, as you can see here,
it wasn't all work during LGT...
I'm glad Courtney, Hannah, and
Megan are only playing, cuz those
are certainly not ARC recognized
entries into the water!

And, the trainees also had other things to do at

camp besides LGT...

Here's Hannah practicing to be a real lifeguard by teaching the rules to the incoming campers. Is that a primary or secondary duty of a lifeguard, Hannah?

Here are Teen, Megan, and Tammy at a campfire with their campers. I bet they're actually thinkin' about lifeguardin' skills, tho.

Here are the famous "Babaloo Dancers"
later at the same campfire...

(and by "famous" I mean nobody outside of LCLC has ever heard of them!)

Here, Hannah and Jim practice  their on-land guarding skills by calming down the campers before meeting the LCLC Waterfront staff and taking their swim tests...

...and then Jim shows them the correct way to use a towel as a quick way to get down the hill.

And now, to cap off this round of pictures, let's see a
nice group shot and Teen & Alaina will show you the
official 1999 LGT hug...
